Born in Lander, Wyo in 1954, Jim became involved in photography while in the Air Force in Europe in 1978.

He competed and won several categories in the Dept of Defense competitions. While European landscapes were always his big winners, his heart was in the people and different cultures; intrigued by a country’s history through their sculpture and reliefs. He concentrated on sketches and paintings involving the celebration of human form.

He currently works with multiple mediums involving the that theme. Although he especially holds the female form, whatever the size and shape, as the epitome of beauty, grace and loveliness, he strives to capture the essence of the humanity through both genders.
